Pathways to Success (P2S)

Individuals and Loved Ones in Recovery

Are you someone in recovery or someone who has been impacted by opioids? Do you live in Ocean County? Are you 18 years of age or older? Are you looking to gain employment? Has it become more difficult after COVID19? Then this program is for you. Those who are impacted by opioids (directly or indirectly) can have additional barriers to overcome in gaining employment. The Pathways to Success program is designed assist in reducing these barriers and help you on your career path.

Vocational Case Management

You will meet with a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist who has lived experience gaining long-term gainful employment while also being in recovery themselves or being a loved one of someone in recovery. Together you will develop an Individual Employment Plan (IEP) to set goals and overcome barriers related to your employment needs. 

Industry Valued Credentialing

Industry Valued Credentialing is a mix of hard and soft employment skills and training. From Job Readiness (Resumes, Interviewing Skills and Strategies, and Professionalism) and Ready to Work (Cultural Competency, Supervision, Personal Employment Advocacy, Telling  Your Story, etc.) to CPRS, CRSP, ServSafe, Computer Training, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and more.

Workshops and Groups

Group Support provides and opportunity for you to talk and learn from others in a group setting of like-minded individuals who are sharing similar challenges.  Workshops are provided by P2S staff, Specialty Guest Speakers, and other Community Agencies to share resources, skills, and guidance, in a specific area of employability interest.

Participant Specific Assistance

On a case-by- case basis, participants can obtain financial assistance to support their employment goals, such as ride share gift card/gas card/bus passes to get to and from interviews/job, childcare assistance, job/interview attire, id obtainment, books for training/school, etc.

Direct Employment Linkages

MHA-Ocean has over 500 employment leads that will assist you in gaining the employment opportunity that matches your career interests and needs. Our Direct Linkages give MHA Ocean the opportunity to "know" the job before you apply for the job.

Re-Entry Services

If you are an individual who is in recovery and has been involved with the justice system, our peers can provide information and assistance with federal bonding, expungement information, and employment linkages to those who are second chance employers.
